Note the constant logic: roughly 10% of errors allowed and at least one minute per question (the CQC grants nearly two, because its questions are more technical). Category C requires holding category B first — C is an extension, not a starting point.
Beyond the topics you know from category B, the C quizzes focus on heavy-vehicle themes: mass and size limits, braking systems and retarders, the tachograph and driver card (valid 5 years, strictly personal), driving and rest times under EU Regulation 561/2006 (a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours of driving), load securing and stability, tyres and maintenance. The trickiest questions concern the tachograph and driving times — precise numbers, no interpretation.
The Carta di Qualificazione del Conducente (driver qualification card) is mandatory for anyone transporting goods professionally (with C/CE) or passengers (with D/DE). Since 2022 the exam is a single test: 70 questions in 90 minutes — 40 common (4 for each of 10 topics) and 30 sector-specific (10 for each of 3 topics). You pass with up to 7 errors.
