The 30 statements come from the official database of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and cover the whole syllabus: road signs, right of way, speed limits, safety, first aid and basic mechanics. The test is computerized: you answer on a screen at the Motorizzazione after identification with your ID and codice fiscale. It is held in Italian (German and French only in bilingual provinces) โ which is exactly why studying bilingually matters for foreigners.
The margin is razor-thin: 3 errors out of 30 means 90% correct answers. Most questions aren't hard in themselves โ they're built to test attention: a ยซnonยป read too fast, the confusion between strada and carreggiata, a number memorized wrong. That's the line between pass and fail.
The Ministry also updates the database continuously, and the new Highway Code in force since 14 December 2024 introduced brand-new topics. Studying on old manuals or un-updated apps means meeting exam wordings you've never seen.
There is one objective test: passing full official-format simulations (30 questions, 20 minutes, no help) while staying consistently under 2 errors. Arriving at the exam "on the edge" of 3 errors is playing roulette with trick questions.
On SuperQuizPatente the simulation replicates the ministerial format exactly โ in English and Italian side by side โ and the platform calculates your real probability of passing. When it stays above 90%, book with confidence. The full bilingual method is in the guide for studying in English.
