Type-approved agricultural machines and their components must be properly identified so that they can always be recognized and verified. This identification system allows authorities to check that each machine corresponds exactly to the approved type.
The Ministry of Transport has the authority to carry out inspections at any time on agricultural machines that have not yet been registered, as well as on devices intended for the market. This means that even before being sold or used on public roads, machines can be examined to ensure they comply with the approved specifications. These inspections may also include taking samples for detailed testing. The procedures and costs of these checks are defined by specific regulations, and any related expenses are borne by the holder of the type approval.
If these inspections reveal that mass-produced machines do not conform to the approved type, serious measures may be taken. In particular, the approval may be suspended or completely withdrawn. This means that the machines can no longer be produced or sold until compliance is restored.
Anyone who manufactures or sells agricultural machines or components that do not comply with the approved type is subject to an administrative fine. This also applies when a machine is declared compliant but is not in reality. Additionally, approved machines must include proper identification data. If such data is missing, a penalty is applied, although it is generally lower.
These rules ensure that all agricultural machines on the market are safe, properly controlled, and compliant with approved standards, reducing risks for users and road safety.
