Infographic: Multiple persons in a violation

When a violation of road law is committed by more than one person, each individual involved is personally responsible. This means that every participant must pay the administrative monetary penalty as if they had committed the offence alone.

The fact that several people contributed to the same violation does not reduce the individual responsibility of each person. For example, if multiple individuals take part in unlawful behaviour related to road traffic, each of them will receive a separate penalty.

This rule applies unless a specific law provides otherwise. In general, each person involved in a violation is fully and independently responsible.
