Parking of animals on the road

Road traffic rules also apply to animals, especially when they are left stationary on the road. In built-up areas, anyone responsible for animals must ensure they are properly controlled and securely tied using appropriate devices or fixed supports. Animals must be positioned in a way that does not create danger or obstruction for vehicles or pedestrians.

During nighttime, animals may only remain in places that are sufficiently illuminated so that they are clearly visible to other road users and do not cause accidents.

Outside built-up areas, it is prohibited to leave animals on the roadway. This is because speeds are generally higher, and the presence of animals on the road poses a serious safety risk.

In general, the person responsible for the animals must take all necessary precautions to prevent dangerous situations. Failure to comply with these rules results in an administrative fine.
