Animal-drawn vehicles and sledges must have an identification plate that allows both the vehicle and its owner to be recognized. This plate must contain specific information, including the ownerβs details, the municipality of residence, the vehicle category, and an identification number. If the vehicle is used for transporting goods, it must also indicate the total maximum weight and the width of the rims.
The plate does not need to be replaced frequently, but only when the information changes or when it becomes unreadable. It is important that the information remains clear, as it is used to identify the vehicle during circulation.
These plates cannot be produced freely. They are issued only by municipalities, which provide them already completed with the required information. The design and cost of the plate are also officially regulated.
Each animal-drawn vehicle or sledge must be registered in a specific register held by the municipality of the ownerβs residence. This ensures official tracking of these vehicles.
Driving without a plate, or with an outdated or unreadable one, results in an administrative fine. Producing or using unauthorized plates is also prohibited and leads to penalties. In such cases, the irregular plate is confiscated.
For the theory exam, it is important to remember that these vehicles must be identifiable through an official plate issued by the municipality, containing accurate and clearly readable information.
