Visual signals for animal-drawn vehicles

Animal-drawn vehicles and sledges must be equipped with visual signaling devices to ensure they are visible, especially in conditions where lights are required, such as at night or in low visibility.

In these situations, they must have two front lights emitting white light forward and two rear lights emitting red light backward. These lights must be positioned on the sides of the vehicle to clearly indicate its presence and width to other road users.

In addition to lights, the vehicle must have reflectors. There must be two white reflectors at the front, two red reflectors at the rear, and one orange reflector on each side. These are essential because they make the vehicle visible even when it is not directly illuminated, by reflecting the light from other vehicles.

The vehicle must also carry a portable warning triangle, which can be used to signal danger or a stopped vehicle.

If the vehicle is used without these required devices, or if the devices do not comply with regulations, an administrative fine is applied.

For the theory exam, it is important to remember that animal-drawn vehicles must be clearly visible, especially at night, and must be equipped with both lights and properly placed reflective devices.
