This article provides transitional rules to ensure a gradual shift to the new road regulations.
Existing road occupations, installations, and access points may remain temporarily valid, as municipalities can set a transition period. This prevents already authorized situations from becoming immediately illegal.
New rules for permits and concessions apply after six months. Authorizations issued before that remain valid, but the related works must begin within three months and be completed within one year, unless otherwise specified.
Municipalities must also develop traffic plans. Guidelines must be issued within six months, plans adopted within one year, and implemented in the following year.
Regarding road signs, permanent warning and regulatory signs must be updated within one year, while all other signage must be updated within three years. Until then, existing signs can remain. Level crossings must also be adapted within the same timeframe.
Some rules apply only after key steps, such as defining urban areas and classifying roads. Until then, previous rules continue to apply.
These provisions ensure a smooth and gradual adaptation of infrastructure and regulations.
