Infographic: Transitional rules on parking and races

This article establishes transitional rules to allow a gradual shift to the new provisions of the Highway Code.

Regarding parking, the new rules must be implemented within six months from the entry into force of the Code. Until then, the previous regulations continue to apply. This gives local authorities time to adjust signage, organize parking areas, and update regulations.

For road sports events, such as cycling or motor races, the new rules apply only to events taking place from January 1, 1994. Until that date, the previous rules remain valid.

Additionally, certain existing provisions remain in force even during the transition period.

These measures ensure a smooth transition and prevent sudden changes that could create practical difficulties.
