Use of devices and lenses while driving

The driver must always operate the vehicle in the best possible physical and sensory conditions. If the driving licence requires the use of corrective lenses or specific devices, such as glasses or contact lenses, they must be used while driving. This requirement ensures that the driver has adequate vision and can react properly to traffic situations.

While driving, it is forbidden to use devices such as mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, laptops, or similar equipment if their use requires even temporarily removing hands from the steering wheel. This prohibition is crucial because using such devices reduces attention and significantly increases the risk of accidents.

It is also forbidden to use headphones while driving, as they prevent the driver from properly hearing external sounds such as sirens or warning signals. Exceptions apply only to certain drivers belonging to the armed forces or police during specific duties.

The use of hands-free devices or earphones is allowed, provided they do not require the use of hands and the driver maintains adequate hearing in both ears. In practice, the driver must always be able to control the vehicle without distraction and remain aware of the surroundings.

Failure to use prescribed lenses or devices results in a penalty. Violations related to the use of phones or similar devices while driving are considered more serious and involve higher fines, as well as suspension of the driving licence. In case of repeated offences within two years, penalties increase and the suspension period becomes longer.

For theory exam preparation, it is essential to remember that any distraction while driving is dangerous. The driver must always keep both hands on the steering wheel, remain fully focused on the road, and only use devices that do not compromise safety.
